Pinguicula rotundiflora, first found in the late 1970s and officially documented by Miloslav Studnička in 1985, comes from the Aramberri region of Nuevo León in Mexico. In its dormant phase, the rosette contracts and appears more compact, contrasting with its enlarged form when actively carnivorous. This species thrives best under partially shaded environments.
