Description
Nepenthes lowii, Low's Pitcher Plant, is a highland tropical carnivorous endemic to Borneo's mountain peaks, prized for its distinctive hourglass-shaped upper pitchers and remarkable mutualistic relationship with tree shrews. The upper pitchers feature a highly constricted waist, flared mouth, and vaulted lid resembling a toilet bowl, while lower pitchers are smaller and woody. Both pitcher types display bristle-like hairs and produce nectar to attract and digest prey, showcasing this species' sophisticated carnivorous adaptation strategy.
