The name stelliflora originates from the Latin words stella, meaning star, and flora, meaning flower, alluding to the star-shaped form of the flowers. This species, Drosera stelliflora, is native to the jarrah forests of Western Australia, specifically between Busselton and Margaret River. It thrives in laterite soils, occasionally combined with small amounts of silica sand.
