Drosera helodes derives its name from Greek, meaning marsh, highlighting its affinity for seasonally wet, marsh-like environments. This species is native to Western Australia, with documented occurrences in Bullsbrook, Byford, Muchea, and Gingin. It thrives in sandy soils occasionally mixed with rock and along the edges of seasonal swampland areas.
